500 Days of Summer

This movie could have lasted 500 hours and I'm pretty sure it would have still been amazing. Quite honestly the best movie I've seen in  a long time. With witty characters, quirky plot, and retro fashion this is one of my new favorite movies. Check it out chicas.

Sitting in his No Where Land

Just finished watching Nowhere Boy, an in depth look at John Lennon's adolescence, which was really well done. Starring Aaron Johnson as Johnny, the movie looks at the relationship between him and his mother, and aunt. The movie sets up his road to the eventual creation of the Beatles but frankly this is not the main focus of the plot. Highly recommend it to all you Lennon lovers, and 1960's fashion addicts.

Super 8

After seeing Super 8 I have come up with a more appropriate title for this movie...Super Lame. As if the highly predictable plot wasn't bad enough there are also a lot of unfinished ties to the end of the movie and glazed over details. Apart from the only good scene of the movie ie the most intense train crash and explosion scene, the only other thing I can take away from this movie is Elle Fanning. Now there is an actress. For a girl of only 13 she has managed to master the talent of acting, maturity and poise. Much like her sister, she is beautiful and talented and I hope to see her in many movies to come.

The World According to Paris

In a desperate attempt to prove that she is more than famous for being famous, Paris Hilton launches her new show, The World According to Paris, on Oxgn. Although this girl spends more time proving that she actually does anything more than she does actually doing something on the show, I have to give her credit for her adorable fashion efforts. Although her clothing is young, flirty, and extremely girly she has managed to upgrade to a more sophisticated self expression which is just in time due to her nearing 30th birthday.

Strawberry Fields Forever

As I was searching one of my favorite websites, Etsy, for fabric I stumbled across an adorable recurrence. Strawberry fabric...I don't know what my sudden obsession with this passionate fruit is but this fabric just screams summer. I am a huge fan of vintage and I can't help but think that a cute dress, romper, or short bloomers would make a key collectors item to any retro ready fanatic.

Beach Blanket Bingo

I have never been a fan of the bikini. Something about being practically naked on the beach has always sorta bothered me. So you can imagine my enthusiasm as the fashion industry started heading back to more covered but still adorable retro swimwear. Everyone's jumping on this trend, which started last spring and has grown more popular this season, including celebrities like Katy Perry and Taylor Swift all the way to stores like Victoria's Secret and even Kohl's. These 1940's style suits are a hit in my book, I can only hope that others can catch on to these adorable suits.

Erin Fetherston

Today I thought I'd post about my favorite new designer, Erin Fetherston. From her adorable blonde bob to her quirky girly style, what else is there to say other than I love this girl. Her fall 2011 collection features soft ethereal colors with a pop of black. I really love her use of bows, drapes, and lacey frills to create a grown up princess feel.  Although the collection is overly girly and soft she still creates an elegant and sophisticated collection. With such a strong collection it leaves us to wonder what will she create next.

Sara Ziff

So I highly recommend Netflix, for the documentaries especially. Today I watched a fashion documentary, Picture Me, starring super model Sara Ziff, who filmed her rise and fall from stardom. Sara goes where no model has  before exposing scandal and secrets. It's a must see in other words.
